Silver Homes
At Silver Homes, the goal is to simplify and modernize property management and bring peace of mind to property managers, landlords, and tenants. I have helped the company design a cloud-based platform that keeps independent landlords and property managers organized by maintaining all property and tenant data in one place.
I have lead the whole design process from the ideation stage to sketching wireframes to creating clickable prototypes. Throughout the design journey, each module has been tested with property managers and landlords to verify the usability and functionality.
Tenant Payments
This module is the most recent Silver Homes project I have been working on. From interviewing and surveying property managers and individual landlords, Tenant Payments was identified as one of the core pain points as the processes are very manual, disjointed, and time-consuming.
Brainstorming
At the start of the design process, I worked with one of the co-founders who has a finance background to understand and analyze the current payment and accounting processes property managers and landlords use today. For the first stage, we wanted to make rent collection and tracking easier for property managers.
Invoices
The invoices section allows users to create and send invoices which directly notifies the tenants via the Tenant Portal. If the user knows they will need to collect recurring payments, they have the ability to customize the frequency for each invoice so it eliminates the manual task of creating an invoice every time. They can also schedule reminders which notifies the tenants that payments are coming up.
Credit Notes
This section allows property managers or landlords to create credit notes and make payments to the tenants. For each of the credit notes issued, the user can see a summary of the payments associated.
Payments
Users have the ability to record, make, and even set up automated payments that get directly recorded in the Silver Homes platform. Having all of the payments conducted through the silver homes platform will allow for better tracking and reporting.
Statements
The statements have been designed to show a summary of the tenant's account including all of the invoices and credit notes. The users have the ability to share the statements which updates on a real-time basis to keep all recipients up to date.
Prototype
This user flow shows how a property manager would create a recurring invoice for collecting a tenant's rent and how a payment could get recorded.
